Overnight Monitor - EPOCH

EPOCH is a Post Short Term Hospitalization Program funded through Medi-Cal that provides short term housing for high medical or behaviroal health utilization individuals who need to continue their recovery immediately after exiting an impatient setting such as the hospital or residential drug treatment. Onsite services will include housing navigation and case management.

Position Summary

The Monitor is responsible for monitoring the activities of residents of the shelter and to

ensure compliance with program rules and expectations. The monitor is also responsible for

ensuring the safety of residents and the security and sanitation of the program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

● Ensure a safe, secure, and efficient facility and program 24 hours a day.

● Ensures safety of residents and staff in all emergencies.

● Ensures residents’ compliance with program policies and rules.

● Engage with clients to create a welcoming environment.

● Pass out client meals and supplies.

● Prepare coffee for clients.

● Monitor grounds on an hourly basis for safety concerns.

● Conduct bag checks for all clients entering the facility in a safe manner and in

accordance with program bag check policy.

● Check for contraband in facility through general observation, room or package/purse

searches

● Utilize crisis intervention techniques to assist with de-escalation of situations while

prioritizing staff and client safety.

● Coordinate with Security Contractor for services on an as needed basis.

● Complete support documentation and daily shift reports

● Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals

of Elevate Community Services

● Maintain resident sign-in/out log as well as all other logbooks and records.

● Answer telephone and route calls or messages to appropriate staff. Respond to in-

person and telephone inquiries from the public.

● Other relevant duties as assigned.
