Grant Specalist

The Grant Specalist responsibilities include monitoring, analyzing, and maintaining financial transactions for various unhoused individual social services programs, tracking revenues and expenditures, preparing required internal and external financial reports, and creating invoices to submit to grantors for reimbursement.

Job responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and bank reconciliations.
  • Track revenues and expenditures by funding source
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct regular audits of financial documents and systems to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Assist with the preparation for year-end audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow projections to manage financial resources effectively.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support data-driven decisions.

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university
  • Experience in budgeting and accounting using various computer applications related to financial reporting 
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to use pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise financial reports for managers, grantors, and other users
